A pretty antique Victorian crescent moon brooch modelled in base metal and lined with two rows of glistening white pastes that resemble diamonds.
Star and Moon images became popular during the late 19th Century as an interest in astronomy grew. Crescent moons were also a symbol of the feminine moon goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.
It’s a collectable antique treasure and in excellent condition.
